This will be the 14th annual Race for the Rescues, and is put on each year by The Rescue Train, a nonprofit organization located in Los Angeles dedicated to “eliminating animal suffering and euthanasia through hands-on rescue work, dedication to spay/neuter, education and awareness,” as their website states.

The celebrity host this year will be Jane Lynch, best known for her role as Sue Sylvester on Glee, and the voice of Sergeant Calhoun from the Wreck-It Ralph movies. She also starred in the 2000 mockumentary Best in Show, which inspired the real-life National Dog Show.

Race registration begins at 7 a.m. and runs until 8:30 a.m., with the fun run beginning at 9:30 a.m., while the 1K dog walk gets underway at 9 a.m.

The 5K and 10K both begin at 8:30 a.m.

There are also dog adoptions available beginning at 7 a.m. and running until 11 a.m.

Race day registration prices are as follows: $40 for the 5K, $55 for the 5K with your dog, $44 for the 10K, $59 for the 10K with your dog, $27 for the fun run, and $40 for the 1K dog walk.

If you bring your dog, they must be spayed/neutered, well-behaved and non-aggressive, up to date on their vaccinations, and their leash must be no longer than six feet in length.
