Boss Nation Brands Official Response to H5N1

Boss Nation Brands Official Response to H5N1

DECEMBER 30, 2024

The avian virus H5N1 also known as the bird flu outbreak in the United States has disrupted the supply chainsignificantly which affected both human and pet food. As a responsible company and owner of pets, we wantedto ensure to our customers that we are taking utmost care to make sure that our pet food is safe. We use High-Pressure

Processing (HPP) which has been demonstrated to neutralize the virulent avian influenza virus under specificconditions of time and pressure. *Published research shows that

HPP is effective at destroying live virus cells, therefore eliminating the threat that this virus may pose to pets.

Our manufacturing partners have strict Good Manufacturing Practices, as well as a HACCP program, supportedby Prerequisites Programs, to assure the freeze dried and frozen dog and cat foods are free from pathogens. Our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program (FSQA) request for all our suppliers to implement a PositiveRelease program, which dictates to all our suppliers, only lots that tested negative for pathogens can bereleased to commerce. Our manufacturing partners are inspected, at least on a yearly basis, to make sure theyfollow guidance from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health InspectionService (APHIS) and State and local agricultural officials.

We continue to work with our raw goat milk supplier to make sure the milk is being monitored for the avian virusshould it be detected in the state where it is located. To date,

no avian virus has been detected in the State where our manufacturing facility of goat milk is located, and all thegoat milk supply is from this State.

We want to assure our customers that we will monitor the avian virus situation, and we will adhere any newguidance outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or USDA.
