LYNDEN, WA — September 17, 2026 — Whatcom County dogs and their families gathered September 13 for the Whatcom Humane Society’s annual Dog Days of Summer, a community celebration centered around pets, animal welfare and the people who care for them.
Held at the Whatcom Humane Society’s Division Street location in Bellingham, the event brought together local pet owners, animal lovers, businesses and organizations for an afternoon of canine games and contests, pet-focused vendors and exhibitors, food, entertainment and activities for dogs and their families.
The event also helped shine a light on the year-round work of the Whatcom Humane Society, which provides care and services for animals throughout the community, including animals that are abandoned, injured, abused or neglected.
This year, Lynden-based Boss Dog Brand participated in Dog Days of Summer with a donation designed to provide healthy food and treats to local pets and animal rescues.
Boss Dog donated more than 1,000 bags of Premium Probiotic Dog Food and more than 7,000 cups of Pumpkin Greek Style Frozen Yogurt for dogs and cats, providing thousands of servings of pet food and treats at no cost to the community.
The donated products helped fill freezers belonging to local families and rescues with premium pet nutrition that could be enjoyed beyond the event itself.
